Mixed Ability Pilates Classes

Group matwork classes are run as a block of classes. A typical 6 week block is £66. Class sizes are very small, with only 12 participants to ensure attention to detail. While you are exercising, Dawn will move around the room making tactile and verbal cues, helping you to improve your alignment and movement, thus helping you to achieve your goals. Dawn ensures that all clients get individual attention during her group classes

All you need is a mat, some water, and a class that suits your needs. If you would like to join a class or require more details, then please call or email Dawn at Total Pilates so she can direct you to which class will be most suitable for you. Please note that some Matwork classes may have a Body Control Pilates student teacher assisting and observing Dawn.

Medical referrals are welcome.

Pilates for the Older Person

As a population, we are able to live even longer than ever before and stay active well into our older years. As a Pilates teacher, my role is to ensure that this continues.

Pilates offers a wealth of benefits for the older person. One example of this is by proving incredibly effective in alleviating the symptoms of age-related conditions, like Osteoporosis, Arthritis, Parkinson’s and MS.

Dawn’s specialist class, is suitable for clients wishing to prevent falls by improving mobility and balance. Joint and back pain prevention are also key training elements in this class, as well as improving bone health.

Private sessions are perfect if you require a personalised experience that is tailored to your needs. These sessions allow for greater progression and development and are essential for anyone requiring individual attention, such as those who are injured or are wishing to strengthen post-op. Sometimes group matwork classes are not suitable for clients for various reasons, including specific medical conditions, such as back and joint pain, injury, or the severity of a neurological condition. Bespoke sessions speed up the results of Pilates because they are are focused only on your individual needs.

Dawn holds a Pilates Comprehensive Studio Certification and is a Level 4 Low Back Pain Practitioner registered with BackCare.
